Wagtail Huts is situated in the heart of the East Sussex countryside, amongst the rolling hills of a working Farm, a little place of tranquility and dreams, a fully working farm nestled amongst stunning Equestrian facilities and a luxury Award-winning spa, you can find our huts being made on the edge of a farm animals paradise, with Texel and border Leicester sheep grazing on the surrounding land, you can even find a horse or two coming for visits to the workshop which backs on to their field.

As far as we are concerned there is no better place to start your Shepherd hut journey than from a location that is mentioned within the Domesday book and beyond Where many a Shepherd have dwelled here tending to their flock.

We are a family run business, where each individual has their own part to play and excels in their field of expertise.

Tommy is the founder of wagtail huts and has been an artisan designer and builder for the last 20 years. His experience has spanned through an array of building trades which has guided him down the path to eventually fulfil his dreams and create traditional yet modern beautiful living spaces and Shepherd huts. His work has Appeared on the small screen on various property programs and has a portfolio dating back over 20 years. his life experience has led him to home in on his life passion of building shepherds huts to the highest of standards.

His partner Alex has had a lifelong artistic nature about her and also has a portfolio spanning back decades, she produces fine Pen and ink art work rarely seen in this digital age again with painstaking patience and is exhibited in her studio also located on the farm, she also has a big hand in managing the award-winning spa and cottages that are located on the farm. Her drive to create the perfect bubble for guest is reflected in the finishing touches of any project which we undergo.

We have built huts for every occasion, we have created holiday homes, garden rooms with beds and showers, office spaces, we have even created a spa therapy room and a music studio!
